AgriFuture Days 2013
Embedded into the “Days of the Future congress” there took place the “AgriFuture Days” from June 17th to 19th in Carinthia\Austria. 3 days were dedicated to the future of the agricultural sector and will bring together senior representatives from leading government, research & commercial organizations from around the world, to share knowledge, experience, lessons learnt and good practice related to ICT Adoption in the rural area business and all affiliated sectors.
The conference started with a series of presentations on the first day. Keynote speakers were talking about current systems, social preferences, political thoughts and difficulties to break institutional deadlocks. Other scientists and entrepreneurs were discussing the challenge of the global food demand which is forecasted to rise by 70% by 2050, and the parallel slowdown in productivity growth together with the increased pressure on the environment and the natural resources. The call for innovation with know-how transfer from science to the farming community, technology and its adoption, new business models fostering cooperation to accelerate effectiveness to meet these challenges will round off the program of the first day.
