AgriFuture Days 2014
3 days were dedicated to the future of the agricultural sector and brought together senior representatives from leading government, research & commercial organizations from around the world, to share knowledge, experience, lessons learnt and good practice related to ICT Adoption in the rural area business and all affiliated sectors.
The conference started with a series of presentations. Keynote speakers were talking about current systems, social preferences, political thoughts and difficulties to break institutional deadlocks and investigate the situation on different continents. Other scientists and entrepreneurs were discussing the challenge of the global food demand which is forecasted to rise by 70% by 2050, and the parallel slowdown in productivity growth together with the increased pressure on the environment and the natural resources.
Due to the year 2014 as the year of family farms the conference will also focus on them and investigate how to inform them, how to increase productivity and how to give bettere access to market with the help of technology. The call for innovation with know-how transfer from science to the farming community, technology and its adoption, new business models fostering cooperation to accelerate effectiveness to meet these challenges will round off the program and one day will be used to how new technolgies from 15 partners as we las show new consultancy topics from 10 partners. An exhibiton wil round off the program as well as the Club of Ossiach will also invite new members and hold its 2nd annual general meeting..
